Listening to the sound of the nature and culture
We’ve invented and created a brand-new type of Tosawashi (traditional Japanese paper in Kochi) for a comfortable sound environment. By combining two technics which are of European traditional cotton paper and of Japanese traditional paper in Kochi. And using that originally invented paper as wallpaper, the walls and ceilings which are perforated boards absorb low-pitched sound. By doing so, the clearly distinct sound takes shape. We made this original paper with special help by Mr. Rogier Uitenboogaart who is known as a Tosa craftsman. The ingredients are all natural and organic sources. For the ingredients of the paper, we used a type of tree called kozo which was grown organically, organic cotton, and some spring water from Shimanto River. Comfortable space is sublime with mild and calm aspects that only traditional Japanese paper would have. We hope you enjoy the superfine moment of consonance with traditional handicrafts “Tsawashi” and vintage sound system.
